Administrative Law

KOM’s work in this area includes a variety of administrative areas including environmental, liquor licensing, employment and municipal issues. Our lawyers represent major retail establishments with liquor licensing issues, governmental approval of license applications and licensing liability. KOM’s administrative environmental practice includes establishing compliance practices with federal and state laws and guidelines and litigation of environmental administrative claims. KOM’s municipal administrative practice includes zoning and land use, preparation and adoption of ordinances and master plans, telecommunications matters, and sewer and water issues. Bankruptcy

Our experienced bankruptcy attorneys  represent a wide variety of clients in both the federal and state courts. Our practice consists of representing the interests of commercial real estate developers in large Chapter 11 cases nationwide, Chapter 7 panel trustees in the Eastern District of Michigan, and other creditors and debtors.

Employment and Labor Law

We handle a wide range of matters, including employment discrimination, harassment, union election campaigns, activities at employment locations (such as handbilling and picketing), employee terminations, disciplinary actions, and other workplace matters. Environmental Law

We handle environmental tort, solid and hazardous waste disposal, site clean-up and related regulatory and litigation matters. We also help resolve disputed environmental problems in real estate transactions. To further assist our clients, we refer them to the necessary technical experts in the fields of environmental engineering, hydrogeology, toxicology, wetlands and other environmental disciplines.

Insurance Coverage Litigation

KOM maintains a successful and broad-based practice relating to insurance coverage issues. We handle matters relating to zoning and real estate, labor and employment, police liability, civil rights, sewer and water, telecommunications, environmental law, ordinance enforcement, the drafting and defending of ordinances and master plans, and the numerous general issues that confront these entities on a daily basis.

Real Estate & Commercial Property
